PRE-CONDITIONED AIR DEBUTS AT SEA-TAC AIRPORT

ARTICLE

SEATTLE AIRPORT

As we know that Seattle is racking number seven in U.S. cities for the world trade. It is because good for the port, good for the city and good for the regional economy.  United's Flight 875 bound for Tokyo-Narita uses pre-conditioned air to cool the interior before take-off. A new project at the Sea-Tac Airport avoid from using jet fuel to heat and cool aircraft at the gate. Now, the planes turn off their auxiliary units and plug into the airport’s air conditioning or  from the heating system. The benefits can get is airlines are expected to save more than $15 million in annual fuel costs and the airport will be reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 40,000 metric tons. So the equivalent of taking 8,000 cars off the road.

The recently by implemented Pre-Conditioned Air (PC Air) service for heats or for cools the aircraft during the boarding and during the deplaning. The port was been built a centralized plant to delivered pre-conditioned air through 15 miles of pipes to each of the airport’s 73 jet gates. This the system will allows aircraft to shut down their auxiliary power units, which emit CO2 gases and other emissions, and they will add to airline fuel costs.

In the one year, airlines operating at Sea-Tac will be save an estimated  the five million gallons of the fuel. PC Air provide for the both environmental and financial benefits for keeping with the Port’s Century Agenda goal to reduce the airport’s carbon footprint and increase energy that need through conservation and renewable sources.

Here you can see the yellow tubing that runs from the terminal to the aircraft. It's extremely important for the airport authority to repair them in a timely manor when they break. Sea-Tac is able to use one centralized system. This is will allow the airport to take the advantage of the electricity can be more saving by lowering peak usage. This is show how rates are charged, and down the road the system can power up during low rate periods.

This project is a huge benefit to the airlines as we can expected to pay off in less than three years and Sea-Tac applied for and received grants to cover nearly half of the project's cost. Additionally, by removing the portable diesel units on the ramp can reduce greenhouse gases and noise. So even less for the airlines to pay
the pre-conditioned air debuts at Sea-Tac airport to reduce air emissions and save millions in fuel costs.

This project can reduce gas CO2 from planes. This long investment also will reduce airlines in terms of money. It also can reduce carbon footprint. Another advantage is reduce air pollution and reduce noise pollution.this a good project because can generate 100,000 new jobs. In this globalization was hard to us to find work. It can increase international trade and tourism. This project can protecting the environment with innovative sustainability initiatives.
